What is the true difference between Windows 7 x86 and Windows 7 x64? Yes I know that x64 is 64 bit, but what benifits do I gain running 64 bit over 32 bit and what is the REAL difference?

I just installed Windows 7 onto my laptop and so I went off in search of some good themes for me to use.

I have found a couple but they aren’t installing to the effect that screen shots promised they would.

Is there a proper way to install a 3rd party (custom) theme for Windows 7? Or are the screenshots with the cool looking windows and menus just hocus pocus to get the download numbers up?

I have windows vista ultimate 64 bit, I am planning to upgrade to windows 7 ultimate. How do I install the upgrade, and is it possible for me to dual boot windows 7 so I could use mac OS? How would I do this? Thank You

How do I keep overlapping windows to stay as I want them in Windows 7? When I have one window open and I try to open another one, often times the computer will kick me back to my previous window while the new window is loading. Likewise, the computer will randomly switch between window to window on its own. I found that if I click minimize instead of just opening a new window that usually helps, but not all the time. Any ideas?

I need to be able to run a program called Pro Tools and it isn’t compatible with Windows 7 and i cant get Windows XP Virtual mode on Windows 7 to Work with my laptop. How can I downgrade back to Windows Vista or XP?

I want to install Windows 7 on my laptop. I have Windows Vista right now. When I am reading the instructions it says that all of the hard drive will be erased and that I will need to reinstall programs. Does that mean all the programs I have installed myself will be erased or does that mean my computer will have nothing on it after I install Windows 7?

I’m using the Windows 7 Beta right now and I backup my data using the backup program built into windows to my external hard drive. I’m wondering if this backup would be able to be restored onto Windows Vista, because I want to go back to Vista. Thanks.

I’ve done allot of windows install with my Laptop Satellite A300. Now the crap thing i am facing is the compatibility with Windows 7. After all install is successful, the final bit where it says “completion installation” it says “Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware”. I tried other setup files, even retail versions of Windows 7 ultime crap and got nothing out of it but the same problem exists.
I’ve tried windows upgrade advisor and all there is. The problem still exists.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer right now. It was pre-loaded on the machine. I’d like to upgrade it to Windows 7. I am also planning on buying a Mac. Will I be able to load the Windows 7 upgrade version on that also? Thanks in advance for your help.

I installed Windows 7 a couple weeks ago on my laptop. But I am considering installing it onto my desktop. Does anyone know if the operating system will brick its self before the official release of the OS?

I intend on buy Windows 7 and have a beta key.

When upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, will I loose my current files?
